(EN) With the exhibition "Whatever happens shouldn't be taken personally", the artist Nadine K. Cenoz shows two new series of works that play with the exhibition space Bacio in an installative way.
Both deal with the local context and convey a feeling of coming back to a place that is familiar and foreign at the same time. This ambivalence, while seemingly vague, questions who moves in what spaces and how, and suggests living and feeling forms of existence. Sound artist Tobias Lanz responds to Nadine K. Cenoz's expansive work with experimental sounds.
For Nadine (pt. 2)
I’m here with that strange feeling, she said, my
reflection today is not in
but on the window Barely holding on any surface really
I can actually feel it
trembling Contour interrupted by those on the inside
of the cafe the
car And now
the laundromat
Dearest friend, I have had this feeling before (often, actually) – Reflection retreating on any tilt
On just the right light to hold it there for the moment
Will the sun fade us? We don’t float we oscillate
within
a green sort of belonging
a hazy sort of not
belonging to this room
this street this city has been
finding me well but
I haven’t found anyone
to help with the work or the thoughts about time, distance, who is
the “we”?
Here, we
is you and I And I
miss you and I
don’t think New York is
the same without you
at least
for me Probably doesn’t matter so much for the rats but I like to think that it does
